Agritechnica organizer DLG and Expoagro today presented the results arising from a successful strategic cooperation forged since March 2008. Several joint achievements were highlighted during the press conference at the Expoagro exhibition in Baradero, Argentina. This included a 60-percent increase in the number of Argentine farm equipment makers participating in Agritechnica 2009. In addition to a national pavilion at the show, Argentine experts on no-tillage also contributed significant knowhow to the World Soil and Water Show within Agritechnica, which focused on innovative tillage and water use strategies at a range of locations worldwide. An even higher level of Argentine participation is planned for Agritechnica 2011, including a major extension of machinery displays. At the next Expoagro in 2011, German and European technologies and solutions will be displayed at a planned German pavilion, giving companies considerable exposure and reach into the Argentine and South American market.
Following these positive results, DLG and Expoagro are extending their cooperation with a new strategic partnership between DLG International, a subsidiary of DLG, and Expoagro. This new partnership enables Argentinean exhibitors with a special focus on the Russian market to participate in the AgroTech Russia. This exhibition is organized in a joint project of DLG International and the All Russian Exhibition Centre within the Golden Autumn in Moscow. Expoagro intends to organize a pavilion for the forthcoming show from 8 - 11 October 2010, allowing Argentine companies a chance to showcase their technologies which are suitable for the CIS countries, with farmlands that are similarly vast.
“In a very short period, this collaboration has resulted in projects which have benefited agriculture on two continents. During the last years it has shown clearly that markets get more and more global. The positive results of the cooperation are in line with the huge increase of global aspects in the market,” says Dr. Jochen Köckler, managing director of DLG Exhibitions and chairman of the supervisory board of DLG International. “We will continue to further the potential of this cooperation, including increasing the accessibility of the Argentine market to European companies. An alliance like this is in line with DLG's strategy of promoting agricultural progress worldwide,” he said.
Adds Eugenio Schlossberg, managing director of Expoagro: “Over 40 Argentine farm equipment manufacturers exhibited at Agritechnica in 2009. From the positive feedback received, we are confident that Agritechnica is the world show for global agribusiness, and also a crucial platform for the Argentine industry to access new markets in Eastern Europe, Russia and Kazakhstan. Conversely, Expoagro also has the potential of allowing European agricultural machinery manufacturers access to markets in South America. We will extend our cooperation with DLG International for the project AgroTech Russia, giving our exhibitors with strong focus on Russia the opportunity to be in Moscow this year.”
